Who We Are

The Action for Social Integration (ASI) was founded to fill the gap that exists in advancing the conditions for economic, social and cultural integration of refugees, black and minority ethnic communities who have difficulties in integrating in the UK society.

ASI Charitable Objects are:

To promote equality and diversity and to eliminate discrimination in relation to African and other ethnic minority communities by such charitable means as the committee determines from time to time, in particular but not exclusively by:

  1. Educating the public about moral and human rights issues and by providing support and advice on the same;
  2. Relieving unemployment and promoting training and work experience schemes for members of such communities;
  3. Providing counselling and advocacy;
  4. Promoting co-operation between voluntary organisations working in this area in both the united kingdom and in European union.
  5. Promoting social inclusion;
  6. Implementing community activities for the benefit of such African and ethnic minority communities as the committee determine;
  7. Developing the capacity and skills of members of African and other ethnic minority communities in such ways as the committee see fit so that they are better able to identify and help meet their needs and participate more fully in society; and
  8. Such other means that further the objects of the company.
Our Values and Principles
  • We work with the disadvantaged and their communities to improve their lives and achieve their full potential.
  • We share our learning and field-based experience through education, training and communication.
  • We join with partners in the voluntary sector to promote and achieve equity, justice and inclusion for all.
  • We go to the people, learn from them, plan with them, work with them, start with what they know and build on what they have.
  • We reframe practice to focus on the strengths, aspirations and ambitions of minority ethnic and refugee families.
  • We influence future policy and guidance in relation to the needs and aspirations of ethnic minority and refugees communities.
Our Vision
  • To become a leading organisation that facilitates, advances and supports the full economic, social and cultural integration of refugee and minority ethnic communities.
  • To become a leading organisation that advocates and lobby on their behalf so that their problems are understood and action is taken to address these.
  • To narrow the gap between neglected and social excluded people and the rest of the society.
